Vice - President of Chinese Dance
2015 - 2017
My active involvement in my dance CCA, shaped me into a confident person who is able to lead and reflect. I realised it to be helpful for me in the Early Childhood Sector as an educator should be confident, reflective and never gives up whenever delivering lessons.

Together with the President of Chinese Dance and guidance from teachers, we led a team of 25 members. I was mainly in charge of the welfare of my team. I ensured that each member felt a sense of belonging to the team where their needs were catered and built relationships based on trust and respect.

I was selected to be an Orientation Group Leader (OGL) for a class of 35 students along with 9 other schoolmates. From this camp, it honed my teamwork, communication and confidence skills. As it was a large scale event, I had to work with different people to minimize miscommunications. I was also able to step out of my comfort zone and talked to a large group of students. I believe these skills will be relevant in the teaching industry, as teachers would need to ensure that there are minimal miscommunications between them and parents of children under their care.
Secondary 3 Overseas Leadership Camp | 3 Days 2 Night | June 2016
I attended a Leadership Camp at Kota Tinggi, Malaysia along with 150 schoolmates from my cohort. I managed to work together with my class to overcome obstacles and disagreements. Even though I was exposed to many obstacles, I did not back out and challenged myself to conquer it.

Leadership Trainings & Camps

Having held a leadership position in school, I was given opportunities to hone and improve my skills. There were group mentoring sessions held with other CCA leaders and teachers which allowed me to learn from others and helped me identify possible areas of improvement as an effective leader and mentor.
